Having a Baby?
In York County, you are not alone. According to the United States Census Bureau, an estimated 2,200 births were expected in 1999 and the numbers keep on growing.
At Goodall Hospital, our Women's and Birthing Center, opened in February, 2000, showcases our commitment to York County families.
The center features home-like décor, modern conveniences and the latest in technology to make expectant mothers and families feel comfortable and secure. More importantly, our skilled, compassionate staff with an average of 15 years experience will listen to your needs to create a personalized approached to one of life's most important and treasured moments.
All of our rooms are "Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Post-Partum rooms" meaning that once you are settled in, you and your baby won't have to move until you are both sent home.
Room features include:
- Warm and inviting décor, including handmade quilts.
- State-of-the-art medical equipment conveniently stored so it is not visible until needed.
- Private bathrooms, including a tub/shower.
- Plenty of room for dads to sleep over.
- A cozy table for two for dining.
- A comfortable rocker-recliner.
Other important program features include:
- Nurse Call System: When you ring the call button, a signal will be transmitted directly to your nurse, eliminating the noisy overhead paging system and ensuring personalized care and service.
- Family Center: This a a comfortable place to wait, relax, watch TV or enjoy a light snack
- "Code Alert" Infant Security: Each infant is fitted with a band that houses a tiny transmitter. If someone attempts to leave the unit with the baby, an alarm will immediately sound.
- Post-Partum Care Center: We will check on both you and your baby a few days after your delivery.
- Certified Lactation Counselors, who provide a combination of practical knowledge and the latest research-based teaching.
